Glacier garden tour

A jewel of nature, the glacial mills of the Giardino dei Ghiacciai di Cavaglia. The glacial mills, also called "pots of the giants", were shaped by the Palü glacier. Over thousands of years have the glacial water, the debris and the gravel worked the hard rock and ground huge holes into the ground - an impressive natural phenomenon. Framed by abundant flora and varied alpine vegetation, the glacier mills are one of the most impressive things the Val Poschiavo has to offer!

Good to know:

Guided tours: Every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from June to October.

Meeting point: 14:00 at Cavaglia railway station (approx. 1 hour drive from Pontresina)

Equipment: hiking boots

Duration: approx. 90 minutes

Insurance is the responsibility of the participants

Free of charge on presentation of the Pontresina Guest Card, otherwise adults CHF 10.- / students CHF 5.- (excl. train journey).
