Our Team

Ulf Naumann


Ulf Naumann is an experienced hotelier who has been very familiar with the catering, event and hotel industry for years.
With his experience at well-known hotels such as Steigenberger and Hyatt, he is successfully shaping the hotel industry. As regional director, he was responsible for various renowned hotels. Since the beginning of April 2015, the Wiesbaden native and outdoor fan has been responsible as director of the arcona LIVING Hotel in Schaffhausen and regional director for the hotels in the DACH region. In addition, he has been managing director of the arcona Management GmbH Schaffhausen branch since April 2015 and was responsible for the project planning of hotels in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Now his path leads – also to Switzerland – as host of the Hotel Saratz. He likes to spend his free time hiking in the Rosegtal. When the weather is great and sunny, he also flies over the Engadin mountains as a glider pilot.

Kari Walker


Born in Wales, she has been with us at Saratz as Sous Chef and Pastry Chef since 2018 and has been Head Chef since the end of 2020. As a young woman, she went to Germany as an au pair to learn the language and then turned her hobby into a profession. After her culinary training at the 16-point GM Romantik Restaurant Rottner, her passion for cooking was further sparked, especially for patisserie. This was followed by several years abroad in various well-known Gault-Millau and Michelin star restaurants in which she worked as Sous Chef & Pastry Chef, before she returned to Wales with her husband to raise their two children. They also ran their joint business "Symlog Foods" for 12 years. But in the end they are back in beautiful Switzerland and Kari is allowed to bring her extensive experience to our two restaurants. Welcome to the team!

Anni Rose

Human Resources & Quality Manager

Anni Rose has been working in the Saratz team since June 2023. After completing her apprenticeship as a hotel manager in Berlin, she came to the Engadine in February 2012, where she immediately fell in love and worked at the reception. Six years later, she moved to the Gut Clinic in St. Moritz, where she worked as deputy head of administration in order to reorient herself. After five years, she wanted to further her education and learn new things in the field of human resources. At Saratz she is now responsible for recruiting and supporting the approximately 85 employees from numerous nations and supports the management in everyday administrative tasks. In her free time she enjoys traveling, diving and skiing.

Matthias Aeberhard

F&B Coordinator

Matthias, who comes from the region Bodensee, has been with us in the Saratz team since June 2020. As F&B coordinator, he supports our F&B manager and restaurant manager in all administrative and operational matters. Before that, Matthias worked for almost five years as a service team leader and assistant to the management at Bever Lodge, where he helped design the new opening. An all-rounder and therefore exactly right in the Saratz! In his spare time he enjoys windsurfing and mountain biking.

Christina La Grotta

Head of Reception

Christina La Grotta has been our Head of Reception since March 2019. At the Saratz, Christina has the opportunity to use her industry knowledge and skills at the helm of our friendly team at the reception desk, where she is responsible for all operational and administrative tasks.

Elda Aires

Restaurant Manager

Elda, born in Portugal, has steadily climbed the career ladder at the Hotel Saratz. You could almost say from dishwasher to millionaire when you hear their story. She started doing the dishwasher at the Saratz in 2008 and after a year she was employed as a breakfast helper. With a lot of diligence and patience, she has developed from clerk, demi-chef, chef de rang, supervisor, deputy restaurant manager and since April 2020 to chef de service. It wasn't quite enough to become a millionaire, but she is well on the way.

Patrick Falk

Head Barkeeper

A trained restaurant professional with roots on the Baltic coast, Patrick Falk joined the Saratz Team in 2011. Patrick's Saratz career started in our Art Nouveau Dining Room, where his excellent performance and interest in learning new things made him a natural fit for the hotel bar. This is where he discovered a special interest in cocktails and different gin varieties. He was promoted to Head Barkeeper in summer 2015 and leads a team of four.

Sandro Grazioli

Head of Technical Services

Italian-born Sandro Grazioli is a qualified plumber and sanitary engineer. In 2002, Sandro assumed responsibility for our four-man technical services team. Together they look after the entire infrastructure of the Hotel Saratz, including our 35,000-square-metre hotel park and two staff residences.

Amela Mustajbegovic

Head of Housekeeping

With many years of industry experience under her belt, Amela Mustajbegovic has been responsible for housekeeping at the Saratz since December 2019. Amela puts her heart and soul into motivating her team and creating a clean and pleasant environment throughout the hotel.

Myrta Damaso

Spa Manager

Myrta Damaso, our loyal soul, has been in the Saratz since 1997 and works as a medical masseuse. Together with your team, for which you are responsible, you enable our guests to enjoy relaxed moments of well-being in our wellness area with a lot of joy and empathy. Thanks to the variety of massage and cosmetic treatments, every guest will find something suitable. Myrta has already won many regular guests thanks to her professionalism, as she can help with many physical complaints with her hands. She values ​​the contact with the guests very much and we appreciate you all the more for it. She likes to spend her free time in the beautiful Engadine nature, be it on cross-country skis, on the bike or on foot. Do you need a tip? Ask Myrta.

Philip Hübner

Bankett and Event Manager

Philip Hübner has successfully completed his hotel training in Germany. He then came to Davos in Switzerland in late 2009. There he supervised numerous World Ethic Forums. After 8 years as deputy team manager at the Hotel Seehof and two and a half years as restaurant manager at the Tschuggen Grand Hotel Arosa, Philip decided to come to the beautiful Engadine. Since November 2022, Philip has been part of the Saratz team as banquet and event manager.
